The Residenza d’Epoca La Casa del Giglio, is part of an ancient noble palace notified by the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage as “Palazzo Dei”, formerly Palazzo Piccolomini, one of the most famous noble families of the City. This Palace was builded for the brother of Pope Enea Silvio Piccolomini, Pius II, founder of the popular town of Pienza.
Its large rooms with high ceilings and frescoes, its large windows overlooking the great church of Santa Maria in Provenzano, which is dedicated to the Palio of July 2, creates an elegant and refined atmosphere.
In 2007, was restored with the best retention policies, and furnished with style and elegance, with antique furniture and accompanied by all the best comforts. The quiet and privacy while in the central location enables guests to enjoy a stay as authentic ancient Siena at home but with the comforts of an hotel.
Breakfast is served in a preatty little room. Under the residence is visible to the curious tourist and lover of the past, a magical underground cellar dug into the tufa.
